Well, I do believe I've scared up a plot.

That probably means that I'll be going under the radar, again.  It's just as well, no doubt.  Copy-editing is my least favourite activity.

Hunh.  Posting to LJ used to be more fun when I knew some of the people who might be traipsing through my journalling.  Or, y'know, when people actually did that, regardless of whether I knew them, or not.  The community part of LJ is really only apparent when one is following a particular fandom.

That said, I'm not sure if I am following a fandom, or not.  I haven't felt any yearning to go to a Harry Potter con, but on the other hand, I am working on Smart Girls.  Speaking of which, there's a new chapter up.

Construction on the conservatory continues... they're putting in the water lines today.  I am thinking of purchasing a Dicksonia, so that I will be the envy of the Girl from Greaseville.  It's a good enough reason to build my own "Jurassic Park".  Now I just need a velociraptor to feed Ian to, and I'll be set.  Doc, as you might surmise, has been on my "smite list" for a couple days... He invited his brother (and his wife, and their snotty two-year-old) out to visit us.  I, uh... yeah.  Hostessing gets me stressed.  My in-laws get me stressed.

The dog agrees.  He has taken to spending his afternoons sleeping out beside the construction, to avoid the toddler.  I envy him.

There's something weird about Sudbury.

Or maybe there's something weird about me.

Okay, well, we'll take the second statement as granted, and just concentrate on the first, alright?  About Sudbury: ever since moving into the new house (which, btw, is why I've been conspicuously absent -- I mean, more so than usual), I've been waking up too bloody early.  Take this morning, for instance.  Doc doesn't have to be at work until 9.  He's happily snoring his little heart out.  Me?  I don't have to be at work at all, now that I'm a stay-at-home writer.  So guess what?  I'm wide awake [sans caffeine] and typing.

Ah well, at least I'm getting some things done.  There's a new chapter of Smart Girls up over at Ashwinder this morning.  Enjoy!

Due to a recent instance that I consider stalker behaviour, I'm making future posts friends-only.  Don't worry, though -- I'm friendly, and I don't mind adding you to my list if you want to snoop.
